St Helen’s Church in Sefton village is a 13th Century, grade 1 listed building, the only such listing in Sefton. The closest bridge is Netherton Swing Bridge (6). Google Maps shows this route, but if you prefer to walk cross country, use NCN 62 turn left, uphill, immediately after crossing R. Alt then turn left at the road and follow signs into the village. You can also take a 55 bus from Copy Lane (Bridge 6 or 7) towards Liverpool part of the way, then walk this route. You can easily reach the village from Bridges 4A, 5, and 5A too.
Note: This church played an unexpected role in the construction of the canal.
